Autogear Basic uses the phone's GPS together with the tracking tag in the car to record your trips automatically — without a fixed-mounted GPS device.
How it works
- The Tracker app detects the tracking tag via Bluetooth when you get in the car.
- The trip starts automatically.
- The phone records the driving route using GPS.
- When you leave the car, the trip stops automatically.
- The trip is sent directly to your mileage log.
You don't need to open the app or start and stop trips manually — everything happens in the background.
Saves battery automatically
To save battery, the app rests when nothing is moving, and wakes up automatically again when the car or phone starts moving. Short pauses are therefore completely normal — not a bug. In practice you won't notice it: the trip is captured the moment you start driving.
Also works without coverage
If you're somewhere without mobile coverage, the app still logs the trip locally and syncs it automatically to your mileage log once you're back online. If the phone restarts, logging continues on its own — you stay logged in.
The same app also finds equipment tags over Bluetooth, where the company uses that. For the mileage log, it's the tracking tag in the car that matters.
