A license determines what kind of tracking and reporting is active on a unit — for example driving log, fleet management or machine hours. Here we explain how licenses work in Inventory.
Multiple licenses on one unit
The most important characteristic is that one unit can have several licenses at the same time — one active license per category. A vehicle can, for example, have:
- Business — for driving log and fleet management
- Engine — for automatic recording of machine hours
That way you get both features on one and the same vehicle.
Where do I find the licenses?
The licenses are on the unit's detail card in Inventory, on the Licenses and units tab. There you see which licenses are active, with a start date and any end date. See Inventory: Detail card — Licenses and units.
What is unchanged?
- The functionality in Business, Engine, Basic and Asset is the same as before
- Pricing and terms apply as before
- GPS units are on a loan agreement and are returned on cancellation
Frequently asked questions
Can I have Business and Engine on the same car? Yes. Add the Engine license on the vehicle's detail card in Inventory.
