When should I use the Emissions report?
Relevant for tender processes, or as a supplement to environmental reporting for projects.
How to generate the report
- Go to Reports and click Emissions report.
- Choose Vehicle or Project.
- Choose which vehicles or projects.
- Choose the period you want an overview of.
- The preview updates and shows the relevant figures.
- The result can be downloaded as PDF, Excel or CSV.

How does the electric vehicle function work in the emissions report?
In Autogear you can activate a setting for emissions calculation for electric vehicles. When this is activated, the system calculates emissions based on a fixed factor per kilometer (default: 65 g CO₂/km). You can adjust this factor individually for each vehicle, so the calculation can be adapted to specific conditions such as vehicle model or energy consumption.
What happens when I activate the electric vehicle function?
- Scope 1 remains unchanged and applies to direct emissions from fossil-fueled vehicles.
- Scope 2, which under the GHG Protocol would normally include emissions from charging electric vehicles, is removed. Autogear doesn't have data for power consumption during charging, so electric vehicles can only work with our dedicated function, which is based on driving rather than charging.
- Scope 3 remains unchanged and includes emissions related to the use of private cars for work-related purposes.
Key figures for electric vehicles are shown, with a calculation based on distance (km), in line with fossil-fueled vehicles.
Why is Scope 2 shown when the electric vehicle function is deactivated?
When the electric vehicle function is deactivated, Scope 2 is shown in the report to make it visible that the category exists, but isn't relevant to Autogear's emissions figures. This is to avoid misunderstandings and ensure no one thinks Scope 2 has been removed due to a technical error.
Can I adjust the emissions factor for an electric vehicle?
Yes, this is done on the Vehicles page.
What if I don't want to use the electric vehicle function?
If the electric vehicle function isn't activated, electric vehicles aren't included in the emissions calculation, and Scope 2 will still be shown in the report as an informational reference.
