Auto-split automatically splits a trip in two when the vehicle has been stationary long enough to count as two separate trips. You no longer need to split trips manually.
How long must the car stand still?
Auto-split decides how long a vehicle must be stationary before the trip is split. The default is 10 minutes. You can change the time, and use different times for different vehicles.
How to change Auto-split
For one vehicle:
- Go to Inventory and open the vehicle.
- Select the Licenses and units tab.
- Change Auto-split under the trip settings, and save.
For several vehicles at once:
- Go to Inventory and tick the vehicles.
- Select Trip settings in the menu above the list.
- Choose the Auto-split time, and save.
What happens next?
If the vehicle stands still longer than the time you chose, the trip is split where the stop began. The change applies to trips going forward — it is not retroactive.
The trip is not split automatically
Possible cause: Auto-split is set to a longer time than the stop lasted.
Solution: Check the trip settings on the vehicle in Inventory. You can split trips that are already logged yourself — see Trips: Add and split trips.
Is Auto-split the same as splitting a trip?
No. Auto-split happens automatically, based on how long the car stands still. Manual splitting is something you do afterwards, at a point you choose on the route.
