Under Places you add the addresses and areas you drive to, and decide what should happen when a trip ends there. Trips are filled in automatically, so drivers don't have to do it themselves. You can also get an email when a unit arrives at or leaves a place.
Where do I find Places?
Go to Fleet › Setup and analysis › Places.
All places are in one list, whether they are an address with a radius or an area you have drawn. Choose List or Map to switch view, and use the search field to find a place by name, address, project or purpose.
The filters at the top show, for example, only places With automation, Without automation, places that Sets project or places that Notifies.
How to create a new place
- Select New place.
- Pick a recipe, or start with Empty place: - Customer — trips here become Work · Customer visit. - Construction site — trips here get the project and become Work. - Warehouse or depot — email when vehicles arrive and leave. - Supplier or wholesaler — trips here become Work · Purchase.
- Give the place a name and search for the address. The search also finds places you already have, so you avoid duplicates.
- Choose a shape: - Radius around a point suits most addresses. 100 m suits most places. - Drawn area suits plots, sites and construction sites. Tap the map for each corner.
- Select Next and set up the automations.
- Select Save place.
Automations
A place can have one or more automations. They apply to trips that end at the place.
- Fill in trip type and purpose — the trip becomes, for example, Work with the purpose «Customer visit».
- Set project — the trip gets the project you choose.
- Notify when units arrive and leave — selected recipients get an email when one of the units arrives, leaves or both. Pick a role to notify everyone with that role, or pick individual users. Also choose which units the notification applies to.
Which rule wins?
When a trip can get a project from several sources, this order applies:
- The driver chooses. A project chosen in the app or at check-in always comes first.
- Fixed project on the unit. A unit can be on a project for a period. See Project.
- The place the trip ends at. If the trip ends at a place with a project, the trip gets that project.
- Otherwise no project. The trip can be given a project manually later.
Change many places at once
- Select Select above the list and tick the places you want to change.
- Choose the action: Set trip type, Set project, Set purpose or Set radius.
Radius can only be changed in bulk on places that don't send notifications and that aren't a drawn area.
Change or delete a place
Click the place in the list to open it. Here you can change the name, shape and automations.
Select Delete place to delete it. Trips that are already saved keep their trip type and project. Trips to a deleted address show the street address instead of the name.
Who can use Places?
Everyone who can see the fleet can see the places. To create, change or delete places, the user must have the right to edit the fleet. Notifications when units arrive and leave are available to customers with a Business license.
