Units you already have in Autogear — vehicles with GPS, assets and tags — appear automatically in Inventory. You don't need to add them again.
New vehicles are set up by Autogear
When you need to add a new vehicle to Inventory, Autogear does the work for you. We register the vehicle and configure the GPS correctly for the car model, so that:
- trips, rates and toll passages are correct from the very first trip
- the driving log keeps the audit trail the Norwegian Tax Administration requires
- your reports (mileage allowance, ESG, payroll) add up
Setting up the GPS correctly for the specific car model is essential for accurate trips. That's why we do this for you, instead of you adding the vehicle yourself.
Changing the car on a vehicle
If you've got a new car, or need to change the registration number, Autogear performs a verified vehicle change: the new car is registered, the old one is set inactive, and we quality-check that the GPS records correctly for the new car.

- Licenses (Business, Engine, etc.) control what is active on the vehicle — see Inventory: Licenses.
- Dimensions (department, cost center, etc.) are created under Account and set per unit — see Inventory: Dimensions.
