Fixed project on units (formerly Project automation)

Updated Stefan Jacobsen

With a fixed project, all trips for one or more units get the same project for a period, wherever the trips end. This is useful, for example, when someone will only drive to one project for a week or more.

From 2 November 2026, this lives on the project itself. Project automation is no longer under Setup › Triplog › Rules. Existing rules have been moved over.

How to set it up:

  1. Go to Setup › Triplog › Projects and open the project.
  2. Select the Units tab.
  3. Select Add units.
  4. Choose the units and the period.
  5. Save.

The Units tab on the project with «Fixed project» and «Add units»

A unit can only have one fixed project in the same period. If you get the error message «One of the units already has a fixed project in this period. Change or end that rule first.», change or end the other rule first.

A fixed project wins over a project from Places. If the driver chooses a project themselves, that always comes first.
